Is Vanessa Hudgens Joining ‘New Moon?’ - Screen Rant
Vanessa Hudgens in the Twilight Sequel? I think that'll be a great idea! Certainly makes up for choosing an aweful director...

The Spirit

Superbly beautiful movie, though doesn't quite have the charms of Sin City.

Synopsis
Down these mean streets a man must come. A hero born, murdered, and born again. When a Rookie cop named Denny Colt returns from the beyond as The Spirit, a hero whose mission is to fight against the bad forces from the shadows of Central City. The Octopus who kills anyone unfortunate enough to see his face who has other plans. He's going to wipe out the entire city. The Spirit tracks this cold hearted killer from the city's rundown warehouses, to the damp catacombs, to the windswept waterfront all the while facing a bevy of beautiful women who either want to seduce, love or kill the masked crusader
Starring: Gabriel Macht, Eva Mendes, Samuel L. Jackson, and Scarlett Johansson. Directed by: Frank Miller
Fantasy take
Perhaps not so much a fantasy movie as a romance, but the graphics will denote a fantasy feel to the movie...
Storyline: 3 Stars
Quite a good storyline being from a graphic novel, though I found it quite tedious throughout...
Graphics: 5 Stars
Absolutely beautiful graphics! Completely uncomparable... if you're really into proper graphic movies, this is certainly the movie for you!
Acting: 2 Stars
The cast was superb, though I believe their performance was slightly dwarfed through the inexperience of the director.
Emotions: 2 Stars
Yeah it was a love movie, but I didn't really have enough time to get to know and feel for the characters, so a lot of very emotional moments were lost, because I just plain didn't care about the characters...
Action: 2 Stars
As with all good comic book movies, this movie has a great fight scene at the end! But I thought there just wasn't enough action in the movie... My suggestions would have been to get rid of the PG-13 rating and fill it with loads of violence and gore!
Conclusion
It really is a beautiful movie (the below being an example), but it just wasn't Sin City!

Bedtime Stories

Adam Sandler is truly the matser of comedy... this little movie is a pure masterpiece!
Synopsis
Marty Bronson (Jonathan Pryce) who raises his son and daughter on his own has to sell his homey motel to clever Barry Nottingham (Richard Griffiths) who promises to make Marty's son manager, when he's grown up and has proven himself. Nottingham pulls down the motel to raise a pricey hotel. Although grown up, Marty's son Skeeter Bronson (Adam Sandler) works as a janitor and general servant, but unlikely as it seems, he still dreams of becoming the manager. When Nottingham announces a brand-new gigantic hotel project, he makes his future son-in-law, base Kendall (Guy Pierce), manager, shattering Skeeter's dream. At the same time Skeeter's sister Wendy (Courtney Cox) has to leave town for a job interview and asks him to alternate looking after her two children Patrick (Jonathan Morgan Heit) and Bobbi (Laura Ann Kesling) with Wendy's responsible-minded colleague Jill (Keri Russell). He doesn't get along with either Jill or the children, but his easy-goingness loosens them all up and once he starts telling his bedtime stories, the children grow fond of him and begin to bring in their ideas about how the stories should go. When the stories turn out to become true in real life, Skeeter tries to manoeuver the stories into a direction which will make his dream come true, too.
Starring: Adam Sandler, Keri Russell, Russell Brand, and Jonathan Pryce. Directed by: Adam Shankman
Fantasy Take
I'm sure fantasy fans will enjoy this movie, as it employs a wonderful sense of imagination... giving you the feel that you are watching a fantasy movie, though perhaps slightly watered down as it's aimed at a family audience.
Storyline: 3 Stars
Pretty typical of any Disney movie... it's got it's charms, imaginative but not alienating.
Graphics: 3 Stars
Graphics are just as much as needed for it's kind of movie, not being all too taxing on the visual department...
Acting: 3 Stars
Acting is relative;y good, and all the cast seemed to fit their possitions quite well.
Adam Sandler: 4 Stars
Adam Sandler did a wonderful job, extremely funny and quite likable, fitting his character very well!
Russell Brand: 4 Stars
Another really well performing actor, Brand did a wonderful job with his sarcasting supporting character
Music: 3 Stars
Nothing special about the music just blended in nicely with the whole setup
Emotions: 3 Stars
Never created as a humanist masterpiece, but as a light family comedy, though there are wonderful points in the movie where we can really relate with the characters' feelings...
Humour: 4 Stars
Extremely funny with some wonderful characters, especially look out for Bugsy the Hamster, absolutely hilarious!
Conclusion
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, and trust that you will enjoy it just as much.
Happy Viewing!

Preview: 2009
Following on from my previous post (A review of 2008) customarily I will endeavor to give my readers an idea of what to expect in the movie world in the year coming up: 2009.
Starting on New Years day, Frank Miller released his visual epic: The Spirit (to be reviewed in time) following the legends of Sin City and 300.
A couple weeks after Will Smith will be back with drama movie: Seven Pounds.
In March we will have perhaps Marvel's most marvelous superhero movie of all time: The spectacular Watchmen!
Along with the Watchmen, Fox will be realeasing their X-Men prequel: Wolverine, also looking like quite a visual festival.
More than that, we've got the 6th installment of Harry Potter: The Half-Blood Prince, expected to be the huge movie of next year!
Johnny Depp will also be returning in Public Enemies, and with Heath Ledger in Terry Gilliam's next movie: The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.
For horror fans, a movie to look out for will be Kevin Costner and Ivana Baquero's "The New Daughter" looks like it's going to do extremely well even though so very little heard of at this present time.
In the Autumn/Fall we have the 4th installment of Terminator: Terminator Salvation... also looks like it's going to be very visually elaborate, and expected to be one of the huge movies of the year.
For Foreign cinema... I'm personally looking forward to The Anarchist's Wife, which looks like it's going to be a very interesting movie, though I know nothing about any of the people taking part except for young actress Ivana Baquero... Trailer looks really good anyway...
So only time can tell whether these movies will come up with the goods... and I wonder whether there will be some unkown movie that will shine above the rest...
Happy New Year to all!
