Review: The Taking of Pelham 123

Movie Rating: 4 Stars

I think Tony Scott is a brilliant director after making one of my favorite Dakota Fanning movies: Man On Fire... So as you can imagine, I had quite high hopes for the movie, and I certainly wasn't let down!

SYNOPSIS

It is a movie about a terrorist who take hostage some civilians on a train, who will be duly set free in exchange for money!

i know it's not particularly the most original story idea... But this is the movie that really brought the plot-line to life.

Starring Denzel Washington, John Travolta, and Jon Turturro.

Emotions: 4 Stars

The movie is laced with humanity and feeling... It's not a weepy but it won't let your charitable side die.

Music: 3 Stars

It's as much as you need for a movie of this size, but not going overboard.

Scott made a wise decision in using Harry Gregsson-Williams!

Conclusion

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and will readily recommend it to all of my readers

Enjoy!

Alice in Wonderland pictures

Hey take a look at these great new pictures from Tim Burton's next movie: Alice in Wonderland.

Johnny Depp looks great as the Mad Hatter, and dispite her age, I think Alice looks really quite cute!

Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince

The sixth Harry Potter movie... Does it stand up to the rest?

MOVIE RATING: 4 stars

Well yes I think it does stand up to previous movies... Though it might not appeal to younger audiences as much as the previous.

The movie tends to reflect a lot of the feelinng conveyed in last year's Dark Knight, allowing for a more mature audience.

SYNOPSIS

Well if you had seen the previous movie, you would know that Voldemort was still on the loose... And it would be Harry's job to deal with it... i can't say too much more than that without giving the story away.

MUSIC: 3 Stars

Quite disapointing when compared to John Williams' score on the first 3 movies... But not bad enough that it ruins the movie.

HUMOUR: 4 Stars

Directors have started to realise that audiences love to have a slight spinkling of humour with their movies... And Director David Yates made no exception in this brilliant movie.

ACTING : 5 stars

You couldn't find a better cast in any movie. brilliant acting all round... Especially liked Helena Bonham Carter.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, I thought the movie was really good and quite enjoyable... Perhaps not as well suited to children... But seems to have a lot more content then the preevious movies.

Just a few things I would like for the next movie: more of Helena Bonham Carter's character, more Luna, reintrrroduction of John Hurt... And some more great cameos...

Thanks for reading!

The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert

Monday classic review

Movie Rating: 2 Stars

Every monday at my local cinema, they play a classic movie in the afternoon.. So I had the afternoon off work... So I decided to watch this movie... Not the best in the world, but there were some entertaining parts.

SYNOPSIS

3 transexual entertainers decide to go on a tour of the Australian destert stopping along the way to do a bit of entertaining.
It is mainly a comedy movie and will only appeal to a small portion of movie viewers.

Starring Hugo Weaving, Terrence Stamp, and Guy Pearce.

Storyline: 2 Stars

The storyline isn't particularly the main selling point of the movie... But will nevertheless satisfy the regular comedy watcher.

MUSIC: 5 Stars

The music was the only part of the movie that really stood out to me as "classic" being wonderfully mixed with a nice selection of songs.

Conclusion

The movie as a whole was quite hard to like with the main characcters being quite sexually disturbing... And the whole movie was quite a dissapointment for me. Though the music was brilliant!

Shaka Movies over and out.
